Newcastle’s Got Matt’s (& Standford’s) Talent

Matt McLaren, one of Newcastle’s finest and most talented musicians and now, one of Australia’s Got Talent’s Grand Finalists in 2016.

Matt’s love for music shows through his extensive repertoire with his extraordinary key skills and mesmerising vocals. As a classically trained pianist, his music career has spanned over 20 years and is the owner and operator of Newcastle’s premier music production studio S & M Productions.

Matt McLarenFor those that don’t know, Matt is blind. Accompanied by his guide dog Stanford, Matt performs professionally full time in the Newcastle region at local venues, weddings, corporate events and functions.

Starting the audition process in late 2015, Matt was successful in progressing through to the live stage auditions of Australia’s Got Talent. Performing in front of Kelly Osborne, Ian “Dicko” Dickson, Eddie Perfect and Sophie Monk, Matt received a standing ovation and four yes’s from the judges sending him to the next stage of the competition.

Matt then took to the AGT stage again with three backup singers to perform “Not the Only One” by Sam Smith which was followed by another standing ovation and a public vote that sent him through to the Grand Final. Unfortunately Matt didn’t take out the number one prize, but was recognised as one of the five Grand Finalist of Australia’s Got Talent in 2016. Another reason you shouldn’t miss seeing this guy live.

Matt and Stanford will grace us with their presence on Friday 25 March (Good Friday) when he performs live in the Club’s Indulge Restaurant from 7pm. We’re feeling generous this Easter and sharing a little love with our members and guests. This time it’s in the form of free live professional talent while enjoying Chef’s Seafood Tasting Plate.

Bookings in Indulge Restaurant are not essential, however they are recommended. Please phone (02) 49592011 to make your reservation. If you’re looking for somewhere to celebrate Easter with the family, friends or even just to dine out for Seafood, be sure to head to Indulge Restaurant to catch Matt’s performance. I promise, it’s one you’ll never forget or be disappointed with. Hey may even opt for selfie opportunities, Stanford too!

Here’s a little sneak peak (in case you missed it!)

Happy Musical Easter,

Matt Falloon: Balloon Extraordinaire

He’s travelled the world doing what most of us cringe at, balloon twisting. That’s not all he does, add a little height and magic and you’ve got balloon magic shows, giant balloon sculptures and balloon decorations. While adding a mix of art, comedy, puppetry and magic he will add fun to any event.

Matt has been entertaining audiences for over a decade. Starting in Sydney he soon became an international super start. Some of his accolades include winning places in Missouri 2013, New York 2014 and his most renown reward of first place for a small sculpture in Las Vegas 2015.

Now Matt brings his talent to Toronto Workers Club. Saturday 26 March (Easter Saturday) from 6pm the kids can meet Matt in person, enjoy some balloon entertainment and check out his most recognised trick…getting inside a giant balloon!

Even better is that the kids eat free (under 12 years of age) on Saturday evenings from 5.30pm. So why not book a table for the family and witness some international balloon talent. This is a special appearance by Matt and we’re not sure when he’s going to sculpt his way back to The Workies.

You can find the Facebook Event Invitation here, so be sure to invite your friends and family and ring the Club to make your reservation.

But for now, I’ll leave this here. Just for a sneak peak… Matt Falloon on Channel Nine Mornings Show.

Happy Early Balloon Twisting Easter,
