What to do during the Holidays?

School HolidaysWith the success of the January School Holiday workshops, we’ve now released the April workshop dates. Here’s what’s going on…

8833-15We love Pirates at the Workies, so our Pirate Party is back on Tuesday 11 April from 11am. Suitable for children 4 to 12 years of age, everyone party attendee can dress-up, join in the fun, games an activities with prizes for our best pirate and more.

Everyone loves Lego, even the big kids, so this time we’ve launched two Lego Workshops. Wednesday 12 and Wednesday 19 April. A Pirate Lego Workshop and an Underwater Lego Workshop. Hosted by a qualified Lego builder and representative, there will be building competitions, games, activities and prizes. The Lego workshops are a little more involved and are open to children 6 to 12 years of age.

Then to finish us up we’ve got one for all the Mermaids at heart, with an Underwater Party on Tuesday 18 April. Proudly presented by our Mermaid Host there will be games, activities and prizes. We’re hoping to see everyone’s mermaid scales and beautiful tails. This party is suitable for children 4 to 12 years of age.mermaid10

Each party and workshop is accompanied by lunch, a drink and a qualified party host. The only condition is, parents or guardians must remain on the premises, as the parties and workshops are not a creche or care program.

Tickets for each of parties and workshops can be purchased from the Club or by phoning 49592011. Tickets are $15 per child. Reservations cannot be held without a paid ticket. We do prefer that all tickets are purchased in advance as there is only 30 spots per party available.

You can also find, all our details on the webpage and under our Facebook Events.

We look forward to seeing all of our little pirates, lego master builders (in the making) and mini mermaids.

Rock Rebellion

Rock Rebellion comes to Toronto Workers Club on Saturday 19 November 2016.

rock-rebellion_2016_instaAs part of the “Workies Team” themed events, Rock Rebellion is proudly brought to you by the ideas and concepts of our staff. This one, a little different from many others will feature two bands, a display of custom bikes and cars (you can contact us if you’re interested to display yours), introductory launch of Sailor Jerry into our Bars, themed food and much more!

We’ve opened up the invitation for owners of custom bikes and cars to display their prides of joy as part of the Rock Rebellion event. With custom vintage bikes on display inside the club and pretty classic cars in the car park, we’re looking forward to making this an annual event.rock-rebellion_2016_social3

Robbie & the Rattlesnakes will play from 4.30pm with all time favourites Bad Lucky Kitty taking the stage from 8.30pm. With our dance floor up for grabs, we’re opening it up to all professional, fun and social dancers for the taking! Show us your skills, teach someone new, why not create a dance off?!?

Sailor Jerry
is taking the Rockabilly scene by storm and we’re jumping on the crusade by introducing his Spiced Rum into our collection. The team has created “Rock-Tails” and Sailor Jerry mixes which will be available all day in the bar. See our specially selected “Rock-Tails” menu for our selection.

Trock-rebellion_2016_social2his time, we haven’t forgotten the little ones. Not only can they take part in the free live music in the front lounge, they can also join in their “Grease” themed kids disco in the Kids Area from 6pm. The Kids Disco is free and since it is located in the kids area, we suggest making a reservation for dinner in Indulge Restaurant, as the kids can eat for free*.

So if you’re looking for something a little different, we suggest coming to Rock Rebellion, the first Rockabilly event this side of the lake.

Oh, why Rock Rebellion? As it’s something the staff have created, we’re letting them “rebel”. Out of uniform (Rockabilly style of course) with their tattoos on show! So come in, show your support of their event, join in the fun and why not have a dance?rock-rebellion_2016_social1

We look forward to seeing you all here!

Mr Falloon brings back his Balloons!

The wonderfully talented Matt Balloon returns (due to popular demand) to Toronto Workers Club on Saturday 28 May 2016 from 6pm.

Matt brings with him the extra large balloon that he climbs into and his talent to produce some of the best balloon sculptures known to society. I’m talking motorbikes, helicopters, ninja turtles and much much more.

Matt last visited us on Saturday 26 March. Exciting, delighting and leaving our mini customers in awe. Children expecting poodles and flowers, got mighty swords and motorbikes.

Matt Falloon World Convention 2016_2You can read up on Matt here. Pictured left is one of Matt’s sculptures at the 2016 World Convention.

You can check out more of Matt’s work on his Facebook Page and Website.

Full details for Matt’s visit can be found on our Facebook Invitation and our Facebook Page.

Bookings in Indulge Restaurant, aren’t essential, but are highly recommended on a Saturday evening. Plus don’t forget, Kids Eat FREE!

Until next Balloon Twisting event,

Newcastle’s Got Matt’s (& Standford’s) Talent

Matt McLaren, one of Newcastle’s finest and most talented musicians and now, one of Australia’s Got Talent’s Grand Finalists in 2016.

Matt’s love for music shows through his extensive repertoire with his extraordinary key skills and mesmerising vocals. As a classically trained pianist, his music career has spanned over 20 years and is the owner and operator of Newcastle’s premier music production studio S & M Productions.

Matt McLarenFor those that don’t know, Matt is blind. Accompanied by his guide dog Stanford, Matt performs professionally full time in the Newcastle region at local venues, weddings, corporate events and functions.

Starting the audition process in late 2015, Matt was successful in progressing through to the live stage auditions of Australia’s Got Talent. Performing in front of Kelly Osborne, Ian “Dicko” Dickson, Eddie Perfect and Sophie Monk, Matt received a standing ovation and four yes’s from the judges sending him to the next stage of the competition.

Matt then took to the AGT stage again with three backup singers to perform “Not the Only One” by Sam Smith which was followed by another standing ovation and a public vote that sent him through to the Grand Final. Unfortunately Matt didn’t take out the number one prize, but was recognised as one of the five Grand Finalist of Australia’s Got Talent in 2016. Another reason you shouldn’t miss seeing this guy live.

Matt and Stanford will grace us with their presence on Friday 25 March (Good Friday) when he performs live in the Club’s Indulge Restaurant from 7pm. We’re feeling generous this Easter and sharing a little love with our members and guests. This time it’s in the form of free live professional talent while enjoying Chef’s Seafood Tasting Plate.

Bookings in Indulge Restaurant are not essential, however they are recommended. Please phone (02) 49592011 to make your reservation. If you’re looking for somewhere to celebrate Easter with the family, friends or even just to dine out for Seafood, be sure to head to Indulge Restaurant to catch Matt’s performance. I promise, it’s one you’ll never forget or be disappointed with. Hey may even opt for selfie opportunities, Stanford too!

Here’s a little sneak peak (in case you missed it!)

Happy Musical Easter,
